Variety of Controls
The CFX Concert Grand software instrument contains world-class piano samples recorded at Abbey Road Studios in London, England. User interface pieces are presented as throwbacks to classic analog studio hardware. The user interface required a number of control types, all modeled after their analog-world counterparts. (Items like drop-down menus, which have no analog counterpart minimized in appearance without compromising visibility, recognizability and usability.)
The following interface elements were created in Adobe Photoshop:
- Backlit plastic buttons (interface tabs; mode, mute and limit buttons)
- Rotating knobs/dials
- Fader knobs
- Red light buttons
- Handwritten microphone tape labels
- Panel backgrounds and screw heads
CFX Effects Panel
The effects tab of the CFX interface highlights many of the interface element types
CFX Master Mixer
The handwritten tape changes to reflect which microphone profile is in use by the selected preset.
CFX Tabs
